Inquiring about the method of access into the forest.

In an unusual incident that occurred on Saturday night near Dorfen, a bus operating on the Munich-Mühldorf route got stuck in a forest section. The bus, which was part of the replacement service due to the modernization of signaling technology on the route, was extensively scratched during the wrong turn.

The bus company responsible for the affected line service during the railway work is the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG). They provide direct buses and buses stopping at all stations between Mühldorf and Munich Ost/Friedenstraße.

According to reports, the incident took place during an empty run when the 73-year-old driver, who was at the wheel, missed the exit to the highway towards Passau. In the darkness, he lost his orientation and the bus got stuck in the forest.

Fortunately, the driver was unharmed and was able to determine his location at a nearby house and contact the police. The police spokesman confirmed the driver's safety and added that the bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the incident.

The damage to the field and trees caused by the bus amounts to approximately 1,500 euros. The side window of the bus was also broken during the incident. The recovery of the bus was conducted on Saturday by the owner of the forest plot.

The closure of the connection is expected to continue until September 15, according to Deutsche Bahn. The modernization of the signaling technology has caused a disruption in the connection since early August.

The police were involved in the incident, but no further details have been released regarding the investigation. There are no current estimates for the vehicle's property damage beyond the 1,500 euros for the damage to the field and trees.

This incident serves as a reminder for drivers to remain vigilant, especially during unfamiliar routes or in less-than-ideal conditions. The MVG has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident or any changes to their replacement service procedures.
