BYD Aims High with New Premium Car L3 and Growth Push

Chinese automaker BYD is making waves in the global automotive industry with its ambitious plans to sell around 1 million cars overseas by the end of 2025. As part of this growth strategy, the company is introducing a new premium car, the L3, which will debut at next month's Beijing Auto Show.

The L3, which is priced at around 120,000 RMB, is a significant departure from BYD's current line-up. While the F6, a car theoretically above the L3, falls under the first category of BYD's 'Great BYD Plan' (simple and cheap), the L3 is a new addition to the second category (high tech and more expensive).

BYD has boosted its capital by 200% to 1.28B USD, signalling a major growth push. The L3, which looks better than all other BYD cars, including the F6, is a testament to this commitment to quality and innovation.

The L3 will compete with other affordable premium cars such as those from Geely, Chery, and joint ventures like the Volkswagen Lavida. Interestingly, the L3 is only available with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, manufactured by BYD itself.

Meanwhile, the F6, which costs between 560,000 and 159,800 RMB, is available with two engines: a 2.0 and a 2.4 four-cylinder petrol. No new information about the availability of the L3 or its engine options beyond the 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol has been provided.

In other news, BYD's luxury SUV, the Yangwang U8L, priced at 180k USD and weighing 3.6 tons, is launching next week. However, the article does not provide any new information about new cars in China beyond the L3's debut at the Beijing Auto Show.

In conclusion, BYD is making a bold move with the introduction of the L3. With its focus on quality, innovation, and affordability, the L3 is set to challenge the status quo in the premium car market. Stay tuned for more updates from the Beijing Auto Show next month.
