Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at 100 Tim Hortons Sites Nationwide by FLO
In a significant move to bolster the nation's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, FLO and Tim Hortons have announced a partnership to deploy EV fast chargers at 100 Tims restaurants across Canada by the end of 2028.
The collaboration aims to make EV charging a seamless part of everyday life for Canadians. The first installation under this partnership is already live at 3810 Chuka Boulevard in Regina, Saskatchewan, with 50 Tims locations targeted to have EV fast chargers installed by 2026.
Each participating Tim Hortons restaurant will feature an average of four charging ports, and the FLO Ultra chargers can deliver up to 120 kilometres (75 miles) of range in as little as 10 minutes. These chargers will integrate with the FLO network and can be located and activated through the FLO mobile app.
Tim Hortons plans to provide coast-to-coast coverage for EV fast charging with installations in all 10 provinces. This initiative is a part of the Canadian government's continuous investments in EV infrastructure, with the government having initiated a $25 million CAD program to add over 850 chargers nationwide and pledging $22.7 million CAD for 480 new chargers in British Columbia.
The partnership between FLO and Tim Hortons marks a significant step forward in the expansion of EV charging infrastructure in Canada. Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Tim Hortons, stated that the partnership aims to make EV charging convenient for guests. The partnership will make Tim Hortons the largest restaurant provider of public EV fast charging in Canada.
FLO's partnership with the Canada Infrastructure Bank has committed $235 million to bring over 1,900 public fast charging ports online across the country. The FLO Ultra chargers have an uptime reliability of over 98%, ensuring a smooth charging experience for EV drivers.
The partnership between FLO and Tim Hortons will make EV charging a part of the Tims experience for guests. FLO has previously committed to supporting Tesla's NACS adapter at its charging stations, further enhancing the convenience for Tesla owners.
The availability of information about the persons responsible at FLO for coordinating the cooperation with Tim Hortons could not be ascertained at the time of writing. However, this partnership is set to revolutionise the EV charging landscape in Canada, making it more accessible and convenient for drivers across the country.
