Are you looking for a new and exciting way to get fit? Look no further, as Tabata training is now available in Anklam!

Tabata is a full-body interval training developed by Japanese sports professor Dr. Izumi Tabata in a 1996 study with Olympic speed skaters. Each training round lasts only four minutes, with 20 seconds of intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated eight times. Exercises can vary and include common ones like push-ups, squats, and jumping jacks.

Due to its high intensity, the body continues to burn calories after the workout, improving glucose metabolism and reducing insulin resistance. Tabata benefits cardiovascular health, fat burning, endurance, and flexibility.

Starting mid-September, Jörg Kehnappel will offer Tabata courses at the adult education center in Anklam. Jörg is a teacher and trainer in Anklam and Greifswald, with a passion for swimming and athletics. He believes that Tabata can potentially turn anyone into a fitness enthusiast.

No equipment is needed for Tabata, but resistance bands, small weights, or ropes can be used. Jörg will start two new courses in Anklam on September 18.

If you're interested in trying out Tabata, there are free spots still available for the courses in Anklam. You can find more information about the courses at www.vhs-vg.de or by phone 03834 8760 4820.

Tabata courses are also offered in Hagenow, Schwerin, and Neubrandenburg. Joy Fitness in Schwerin offers Tabata courses as well.
