International Gatherings of Young People Across the Globe
The International Youth Encounters, a programme funded by the Federal Foreign Office, provides an opportunity for youth groups from various countries, cultures, and Germany to come together and engage in projects focused on youth-relevant topics.
This programme caters to groups that might otherwise have fewer opportunities for international exchange, fostering tolerance, mutual understanding, and democratic resilience. The minimum application amount per year is set at 50,000 EUR, with no specific requirements for the financing form and type.
Projects must be completed within a year, latest by December 31 of the funding year. The aim of the International Youth Encounters is to facilitate the exchange of young people, with youth groups consisting of children and youth aged between 12 and 30 years eligible for funding.
Expenses for evaluations are eligible, and there are no geographical restrictions for funding. However, school exchanges and measures funded by the Children and Youth Plan are excluded from funding for the International Youth Encounters.
Funding opportunities and volumes depend on the available budget. It's important to note that there are no other regulations for the application process, apart from the submission of applications to [email protected].
While there is no specific funding guideline or concept for the International Youth Encounters, other funding guidelines such as the "Bundesförderung für effiziente Gebäude" (BEG) are in effect, with ongoing updates and extensions. For example, the current BEG programs are running at least through early 2024, with individual measure funding anticipated to restart around February 27, 2024.
Additionally, the DAS funding guideline is valid from December 2024 until December 31, 2026, and the public transport investment funding in Brandenburg is valid until December 31, 2030. It's worth noting that certain expense types are not excluded from funding for the International Youth Encounters.
Lastly, the International Youth Encounters contribute to the National Security Strategy by promoting dialogue and understanding among young people from different backgrounds.
