Burberry's A/W 2025 Collection: A Stately Outdoor Affair

Burberry's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, presented as a 'blockbuster' show on February 24, 2025, marked the end of London Fashion Week with a grand celebration of British culture and the great outdoors.

Creative director Daniel Lee took inspiration for the collection from the interiors of British stately homes and long rainy walks in the great outdoors. This was reflected in the set design by Bureau Betak, which featured swathes of fabric printed with bucolic oil paintings by British masters.

The collection showcased a variety of looks, with each model having a team of three to seven braiders working on their hair backstage. Shiori Takahashi, responsible for the hair styling, created outdoorsy, windswept hair for the models to interplay with the work of casting director Anita Bitton. For a textured finish and to keep hair in place, Takahashi used alcohol-based products and matte wax.

Four models, Annemary Aderibigbe, Assa Baradji, Elodie Guipaud, and Sacha Quenby, had extra-long micro box braids in the collection. Iris Lasnet, daughter of the late British model Stella Tennant, made her runway debut in the show, wearing a septum ring in tribute to her mother who had a piercing during the 1990s and worked closely with Burberry throughout her career.

Elizabeth McGovern wore her salt and pepper strands in almost damp-looking waves, while Kirsty Hume closed the show with a shock of bright white blonde hair integrated into the semi-open funnel neckline of a black leather parka coat.

In addition to the fashion, the collection featured a cast of actors, chosen by Lee for their ability to make clothes come alive. Daniel Lee stated that the cast chimed with the bohemian irreverence of the collection. Ama Quashie and make-up artist Ammy Drammeh were part of the beauty team, creating perfected skin with flushed cheeks for the models, giving the impression they were briskly striding through England's green and pleasant land.

With its nod to British heritage and the great outdoors, Burberry's A/W 2025 collection was a fitting finale to London Fashion Week, offering a fresh and modern take on traditional British style.
