Intruder illegally enters a residence in Brooklyn, sexually assaults a 71-year-old woman whilst she sleeps, according to police reports.
In the early hours of last Sunday morning, a despicable incident occurred in East New York, Brooklyn. A 71-year-old woman was the victim of a sexual assault in her own home.
The incident took place near Berriman Street and Liberty Avenue, at around 2:15 AM on August 30. The perpetrator entered the residence by climbing through the kitchen window, where the woman was sleeping. He proceeded to choke the woman and groped her genitals before stealing her pajama pants and fleeing southbound on Atkins Avenue.
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers. EMS rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, and she is currently listed in stable condition.
Detectives have released surveillance images of the attacker, and they are urgently seeking the public's assistance in identifying him.
