Intruders found themselves forcibly evicted from a property after a homeowner contacted law enforcement, citing the unwelcome guests as trespassers.
In the quiet neighbourhood of Torrejón de Ardoz, a 90-year-old woman named Dolores Rocha finds herself in a distressing situation. Her son, Javier, who passed away twelve years ago due to colon cancer, left his apartment at number 24 on Madrid Avenue. The apartment, worth over 15,000 euros after a recent renovation and boasting three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a community pool, has been illegally occupied since August 2022.
The intruder, identified as Juan José C. V., deceived the police inspectorate on August 13, 2022, by claiming to live in the apartment. He had changed the lock on the front door, causing the real estate agency to call the Police. Upon their arrival, the squatter handed over the key to the room's lock.
The old lock was an electronic device that couldn't be opened with a key, and it is suspected that Juan José C. V. had installed a digital lock that served as an alarm. The squatter attempted blackmail by demanding 4,500 euros to leave the house, which he later reduced to 2,000 euros.
Dolores, living in a state of anxiety, filed a complaint in the instruction courts of Torrejón de Ardoz on August 14th. The real estate agency, which had rented the apartment for 950 euros with the intention of renting it by the room to some of their employees, has offered to join the complaint to speed up the eviction process.
A mutual agreement was signed to resolve the rental contract. However, the blackmailing incident has left the family feeling helpless and powerless. They hope that their complaint will prevent Juan José C. V. from doing this to anyone else.
The apartment was previously rented to a family, but when the contract ended, it was decided to renovate it. After Javier's death, the apartment was passed to his mother, Dolores. On Wednesday 13, a locksmith installed a new lock on the apartment.
The Police told Juan José C. V. to leave because they were raiding the residence, but he refused to do so. The family is now waiting for the courts to evict the squatter and return their property.
