The Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor is set to launch a new version of the Haval H6, a sportier take on the popular H5, at the Beijing Auto Show. The H6, codenamed CHB021, will offer a 4x4 drive configuration and is scheduled to be showcased on August 26 in China, according to recent reports.
Greatwall is developing a new V6 diesel engine for the H6, marking a departure from the V6 diesel option and 4x4 configuration initially intended for cheaper markets, as suggested in previous reports. This new engine is expected to enhance the H6's performance and off-road capabilities.
Meanwhile, Great Wall Motor has already launched another off-road SUV, the Tank 500, priced starting at 46,800 USD. The Tank 500 is available in both Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) versions.
In other news, Great Wall Motor is also preparing for the pre-sale of the Wey Gaoshan 7 PHEV minivan on September 10, with its debut scheduled at the Chengdu Auto Show.
However, it's worth noting that the H6 is not currently planned for introduction in Europe, according to earlier facts. The H5, presumably a different vehicle, is bound for Europe instead.
Unfortunately, there is currently no publicly available information regarding the exact retail price of the GWM Haval H6 in China; only Australian prices are detailed.
The H6 is a vehicle branded by Greatwall, adding another model to their growing lineup of SUVs and minivans. With its new V6 diesel engine and 4x4 configuration, the H6 is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Chinese automotive market.
