Investigating the primary reason behind the collision, Polish law enforcement is actively engaged.
The Circular Police Authority Borken has taken action against excessive speeding in the region, issuing over 400 fines in a recent crackdown.
According to the police authority, approximately 6% of the vehicles recorded exceeded the permitted maximum speed. One of the most egregious offences occurred on Gildehauser Straße in Gronau, where a car was caught racing at more than twice the speed limit (64 km/h vs 30 km/h).
As a result, four driving bans, 110 administrative offence proceedings, and 423 warning fines were issued. The authorities set up a speed trap on Gildehauser Straße, resulting in the car's apprehension.
The Circular Police Authority Borken also reported particularly serious speeding violations at other locations. For instance, a vehicle was caught going 87 km/h on Dülmener Weg in Borken (50 km/h limit), 108 km/h on Straße Heltweg in Reken (70 km/h limit), and 157 km/h on Bundesstraße 54 in Gronau (100 km/h limit).
Excessive speed and reckless driving remain significant causes of accidents in Circular Borken, often resulting in severe consequences for both involved and uninvolved road users.
Over the past few days, the traffic team of the Circular Police Authority Borken recorded the speed of 8492 vehicles at 16 locations in Circular Borken. The team plans to continue measurements in the upcoming week.
