In the world of automobiles, MG Motor is making waves with its latest announcements. On one hand, the company has officially revealed the interior of the much-anticipated new MG4 EV, which is set to debut on August 5. On the other hand, there are whispers about a successor to the iconic MG TF, but specific details remain scarce.
The new MG4 EV, based on the Oppo smart cockpit, boasts a revised cabin design and a power output of 163hp. It's also expected to be the first mass-produced EV with a semi-solid state battery, promising an estimated range of 537km. The new MG4 EV has already been spotted at dealerships ahead of its debut in China.
As for the MG TF successor, SAIC, the parent company of MG Motor, is developing a new model based on a new platform. This new car, expected to be a new addition to the UK market, will feature front-wheel drive and an engine located at the front. The design of the successor resembles the original MG TF, but the name and further details about the new model or its development have yet to be disclosed.
Interestingly, the new MG TF successor may be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show starting this Friday. However, no information about the connection between the new MG4 EV and the MG TF successor was provided.
In related news, the Roewe 750, another offering from MG Motor, will go on sale in the UK from 2013. This model will feature hybrid power trains, adding another eco-friendly option to MG Motor's lineup.
