Volkswagen New Beetle to Make Simultaneous Debut at Shanghai and New York Auto Shows
The auto industry is abuzz with excitement as Volkswagen prepares to unveil the new version of the iconic New Beetle at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show and the New York Auto Show.
The Shanghai Auto Show, set to begin on April 19 for its press days, will see the New Beetle making its Asian debut on April 22. The exact date for the public opening of the Shanghai Auto Show 2011 is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, the New York Auto Show, which will follow shortly after, is scheduled to open its doors to the public after April 22, with the press days commencing on the same day. The New Beetle's North American debut will take place at a later date during the New York Auto Show.
The new New Beetle is the result of Volkswagen's internal development efforts, using the technical platform of the Golf IV. This new model succeeded the VW Beetle in autumn 2011.
In an interesting twist, a Lucky Star electric Beetle Convertible and a Volkswagen New Beetle Minnie Mouse Edition will also be unveiled at these prestigious events. Furthermore, the New Beetle will be customised by VIDEOEV with four doors.
With the anticipation growing, it's clear that both the Shanghai and New York auto shows are set to attract large crowds, as auto enthusiasts eagerly await the first glimpse of the new New Beetle. Stay tuned for more updates as these exciting events unfold.
