In the bustling city of Shanghai, the 2011 Auto Show saw a significant addition to the Chinese automotive industry. Homegrown automaker, Chery, unveiled a new limousine based on the Riich G6, a luxurious offering designed for practical use.
Measuring more than 7 meters in length and boasting a spacious 5.5-meter wheelbase, this limousine is a testament to Chery's commitment to creating vehicles that exude opulence and comfort. The limousine's primary use in China is for marriages, further emphasising its luxury status.
Interestingly, these limousines are not exclusive to private ownership. They are primarily sold to rental companies, making luxury transportation accessible to a wider audience. This move signifies a shift towards democratising luxury in China's automotive market.
The limousine, far from being a concept car or a mere showpiece, is intended for sale. This decision underscores Chery's confidence in the demand for luxury vehicles in the Chinese market.
In a separate development, the 2011 Auto Show also witnessed the debut of an all-new Chery QQ3 EV, a part of the QQ series revival. Meanwhile, the Jetour Zongheng G700 PHEV off-road SUV started pre-sale, boasting an impressive horsepower of 751 and a wading depth of 970mm.
In a surprising turn of events, Chery reported exporting more vehicles than domestic sales in August 2025, a testament to the brand's growing international presence.
