In Delmenhorst on September 1, 2025, a 69-year-old cyclist had an unexpected encounter on Elmeloher Straße. The cyclist was riding on the cycle path in the direction of Stenum when a silver compact car pulled out from a parking space. To avoid a collision, the cyclist swerved left onto the road.
Despite the cyclist's swift manoeuvre, the vehicle and cyclist did not collide. However, in an attempt to get back onto the cycle path, the cyclist fell over the curb and sustained minor injuries. The cyclist was taken to the hospital and was later released after treatment.
The police are seeking witnesses to provide further information about the incident, which occurred at 15:45. The driver of the silver compact car involved in the incident is described as a man aged between 20 and 30. His exact identity is not disclosed at this time.
