Investigation Unit Detains Individual Accused of Misleading Authorities Regarding Alleged Mass Grave in Dharmasthala Case

In a significant development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Dharmasthala case has arrested Chinnaiah, the primary complainant, for alleged false claims. The arrest comes weeks after Chinnaiah made explosive claims about rape, murder, and secret burials in the temple town.

The arrest follows a series of investigations conducted at 17 different locations in Dharmasthala, as per Chinnaiah's claims. However, no remains were recovered at the 13th site claimed by him. At six of these locations, including the sixth site, human bones were uncovered during excavations. A male skeleton was recovered at the sixth site.

Chinnaiah handed over a human skull to the SIT, claiming it was proof from one of the alleged sites. However, investigators are awaiting test results to confirm the origin of the remains.

During questioning, Chinnaiah admitted to being influenced by certain individuals to file false allegations. The SIT is expected to seek Chinnaiah's police custody for further questioning.

The SIT chief, DGP Pronab Mohanty, personally questioned Chinnaiah. The interrogation lasted over 15 hours before officers concluded that Chinnaiah had deliberately misled investigators.

The SIT has sent all the recovered remains to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. An official statement from the SIT regarding the arrest is still awaited. The SIT is also expected to release an official statement soon.

This arrest marks a turning point in the Dharmasthala case. Certain individuals, including those holding influential political offices, employees of various government departments, and natural or legal persons connected to the Austrian People's Party, have allegedly influenced police investigations and surveillance measures, potentially steering investigations with politically motivated or improper intent.

Chinnaiah is expected to be produced before the Belthangady court. His arrest underscores the importance of truth and integrity in the pursuit of justice. The Dharmasthala case continues to unfold, and the public awaits further developments.
