In the southern Spanish town of Mazarron, authorities are conducting an investigation following the disappearance of two Ecuadorian men, José Patricio Chango, 43, and Edwin Guillermo Cambal, 32. The men, who shared a home in the Camposol urbanization, were last seen on April 16.

According to the families of the missing men, they lost contact with José Patricio on April 16 and grew increasingly concerned when they had no news the following week. Fearing the worst, they filed a report with the Guardia Civil. The family also sought help from the Ecuadorian consulate and conducted searches in Camposol and the nearby Country Club urbanization.

The trail of José Patricio and Edwin Guillermo goes cold after they were seen on security footage at a Camposol gas station in Fuente Álamo at 7:30 p.m. on April 16. The car of José Patricio, one of the missing men, was seen at a Fuente Álamo gas station after they went missing.

Authorities believe that José Patricio's car was driven by three unknown individuals, as seen on the gas station's security footage. However, the suspect arrested in connection with the case had no direct relationship with the missing men but had only crossed paths with them by chance.

In a recent development, human remains have been found in a house in the Camposol urbanization. Authorities will perform identification work to determine if the remains belong to José Patricio and Edwin Guillermo. DNA tests will be crucial in identifying the remains.

The family of José Patricio initially thought the lack of response could be due to the Easter holidays. However, as days turned into weeks, their fears grew stronger. They searched for him for an unspecified duration before filing a report with the Guardia Civil.

The Guardia Civil is conducting an investigation in the Camposol urbanization in Mazarron. At least one person has been arrested in connection with the case, but the suspect's name is not publicly named in available sources.
