Investigators continue seeking an individual from Edmonton in relation to a 2018 murder case.

In a recent development, the Alberta RCMP is actively searching for Christian Nyabirungu, a man in his early 40s, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

Nyabirungu is described as being six-foot-two, weighing approximately 240 lbs., with dark skin, black hair, and brown eyes. He has ties to Edmonton, North Battleford, Toronto, and Montreal, but currently, there is no publicly known connection to any of these cities.

The case in question involves multiple charges, and six people have already been charged in the death of the victim, Mesquita. On Sept. 13, 2018, the body of Mesquita was found in an industrial area in Strathcona County.

Investigators are urgently seeking assistance from the public to determine the victim's name and any information about a white cube van that might hold significant information regarding the case. The public is encouraged to contact local police with any information they might have.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers. It is important to note that Nyabirungu is considered dangerous and should not be approached. The search for Nyabirungu continues, and the public's help is crucial in locating him.

Christian Nyabirungu is also known to potentially have changed his appearance, so any sightings or information regarding his whereabouts should be reported immediately.
