In the city of Recklinghausen and neighbouring Dorsten, several burglaries were reported between Friday evening and Sunday morning. The incidents have left authorities investigating possible connections between the incidents and seeking witnesses to provide information.

On Victorstraße in Recklinghausen, a multi-family house was broken into between Friday afternoon and just after midnight on Saturday. The perpetrators forced open a balcony door on the first floor and searched several rooms, with at least jewelry being stolen. The unknown culprit(s) could be described as about 1.70m tall, thin, and wearing a black "full mask" with openings for eyes.

A neighbouring company was also broken into during the same night. An employee encountered an unknown perpetrator around 3 am, but it remains unclear whether anything was stolen in the company. Drawers were searched, and a fire extinguisher in a butcher's shop on Philipp-Reis-Straße in Recklinghausen was emptied. The method of how the perpetrators got onto the balcony in Recklinghausen has not yet been finally clarified.

In Dorsten, a furniture store on Marler Straße was broken into in the night from Friday to Saturday. The perpetrators forced open a window and gained access to the interior of the store, but it is still unclear if anything was stolen.

The police are accepting tips about suspects at Tel. 0800/2361 111. Witness statements regarding the incidents in Recklinghausen should be reported to the same number. Possible connections between the break-ins are being investigated, and video footage is being evaluated.
