Investment-focused collaboration vital for Bangladesh's transformation into a hub: Lutfey Siddiqi
In a meeting held in Chattogram, the Chief Adviser's Special Envoy on International Affairs, Lutfey Siddiqi, emphasised the crucial role of the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) in attracting foreign investment, creating jobs, and boosting economic growth.
The meeting, which took place on an unspecified date, was attended by officials from various government agencies, representatives from the local administration, and key figures such as Major General Md Nazrul Islam, the Executive Member (Planning and Development) of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and Abdullah Al Mahmud Faruk, the project director of the NSEZ.
The development of the NSEZ in Chittagong, a joint venture between BEZA and the Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), is a significant step for the government. Siddiqi expressed his belief that the NSEZ can attract foreign investment, create jobs, and increase exports from Bangladesh.
