Investment Worth INR 3,500 Crores Materializes at Gwalior Tourism Conference

The Gwalior Tourism Conclave 2025, held at the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University campus, attracted a multitude of investors, industry leaders, artisans, and policymakers. The event aimed to shift perceptions about the region and kickstart a new era of tourism development.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the role of tourism in boosting prosperity and employment opportunities. He announced an INR 50 crore allocation for the upcoming Raja Man Singh Tomar Music University in Gwalior. The university is expected to be a cultural hub, fostering artistic and musical talents.

A short film on Chambal was screened, aiming to change perceptions about the region. The film showcased the untouched beauty and rich heritage of the area, encouraging viewers to look beyond its stereotypes.

The conclave marked significant milestones in the tourism sector. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board signed MoUs to drive influencer campaigns and digital marketing efforts. This move is expected to increase the visibility of Gwalior's tourism offerings.

Six investors were given Letters of Allotment (LOAs) for seven land parcels, unlocking over INR 60 crore in immediate investments. These investments will fund projects including hotels, resorts, and eco-tourism units. The projects are expected to generate employment opportunities and attract more tourists to the region.

At the conclave, six investors submitted investment projects worth a staggering INR 3,500 crore. The projects include the development of luxury hotels, heritage restoration, eco-tourism resorts, adventure tourism facilities, cultural centers, and infrastructure improvements in Gwalior.

The conclave also saw the launch of a dedicated e-commerce platform for traditional crafts. This platform will provide a platform for artisans to showcase and sell their unique creations, promoting Gwalior's rich cultural heritage.

The foundation stone laying for development projects worth INR 17 crore at Gwalior's Phoolbagh was another highlight of the event. The projects aim to transform Phoolbagh into a tourist destination, offering a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

In addition, an allocation of INR 58.46 crore was made for works at the Raja Man Singh Tomar Music and Arts University. This funding will help in the construction of state-of-the-art facilities at the university.

Speakers at the event included Narendra Singh Tomar, Tulsiram Silawat, Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, Shiv Shekhar Shukla, and Piyush Mishra. Their insights and ideas contributed to the rich discussions and brainstorming sessions that took place during the conclave.

Ravi Gosain, president of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), noted that the platform allowed more than 200 tour operators to explore the region through familiarisation tours. This initiative will help in promoting Gwalior as a tourist destination and creating more opportunities for tourism businesses.

A comprehensive master plan for the conservation and beautification of Gwalior Fort was unveiled. The plan aims to preserve the historical significance of the fort while making it more accessible and attractive to tourists.

Jiwaji University has secured substantial funds under the PM Usha scheme. These funds will be used to improve infrastructure and facilities at the university, enhancing its ability to provide quality education.
