On the second Thursday of August, the Senior Citizens' Info Meeting will gather in Bentrup-Loßbruch, Detmold. This monthly event, which takes place at Paulinenstraße 65, is a significant part of the city's senior citizens' work and offers a platform for a personal exchange.
The meeting, scheduled for August 30 from 11 am to 1 pm, will begin at bakery Wester's Backfuchs, Am Plass 2. Mayor Frank Hilker will be present, and Ingrid Dannhäuser and Marion Kettelhake will discuss the work of the Senior Citizens' Council and the offers of the Senior Citizens' Café.
The senior citizens' survey results will be presented at the meeting, providing insights into the needs and suggestions of the elderly population that play a significant role in urban development in Detmold. Senior citizens are not only recipients of city services but also active contributors to the social life in the city.
Interested parties can meet members of the Senior Citizens' Council and employees of the Senior Citizens' Work at the meeting. The event will end around 4 pm at the community center "Alte Schule".
After the discussion, there will be an opportunity for questions and suggestions. Additionally, a small tour of Bentrup-Loßbruch is planned following the meeting. An example of the city's efforts to cater to the elderly is the establishment of a new pick-up and drop-off zone in the city center for the convenience of senior citizens.
