Iowa star Caitlin Clark grapples with injury issues as the Fever take advantage, ascending in the rankings after defeating the Storm.

The Indiana Fever have continued their impressive form in the WNBA, securing a three-game season sweep over the Seattle Storm with a resounding 95-75 victory. Despite the absence of star player Caitlin Clark, the Fever showcased their depth and determination to climb to sixth place in the league standings, boasting a record of 20-18.

Kelsey Mitchell led the charge for the Fever, scoring 21 points in the game. Lexie Hull contributed with nine rebounds, while Aliyah Boston added 27 points and nine rebounds to the team's tally. Odyssey Sims chipped in with 22 points, ensuring the Fever maintained their offensive momentum throughout the match.

Unfortunately, Caitlin Clark has been sidelined since July 15 due to a strained right groin. No return timeline has been given by head coach Stephanie White, who has emphasised the importance of Clark returning to full practice and handling contact before making her return to game action. Clark has missed 16 consecutive games and 24 games overall this season.

The Fever have faced some challenges this season, with the losses of Sydney Colson, Sophie Cunningham, and Aari McDonald for the year. However, their resilience has shone through, particularly in their ability to perform well from long range. In this game, the Fever were 6 of 11 from 3-point range in the first half, and 6 of 17 overall.

The Storm, who had been on a three-game winning streak prior to this match, saw their run come to an end. Nneka Ogwumike scored 17 points for Seattle, with 12 before halftime, while Brittney Sykes added 12 points. Skylar Diggins finished with eight assists in the game for Seattle.

Off the court, Caitlin Clark's influence remains strong. Recently, Nike announced Clark as its newest signature athlete, a testament to her growing impact in the sport. As the Fever continue their journey towards the WNBA playoffs, fans and teammates alike will be eagerly awaiting Clark's return to the court.

With the top eight teams in the WNBA standings advancing to the playoffs, the Fever will need to maintain their form and continue to demonstrate their resilience to secure a place among the elite. The WNBA season is far from over, and the Indiana Fever are determined to make their mark.
