Israeli envoy labels Ulm assault as a terrorist incident.

In the quiet town of Ulm, Germany, an attack on an Israeli defense company has sent shockwaves through the community. The targeted company, reportedly Elbit, was attacked early Monday morning by five suspects.

Israel's Ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, swiftly condemned the attack, describing it as a terrorist act. Prosor identified the perpetrators as supporters of Hamas, an Islamic Palestinian terrorist organization.

The suspects gained entry to the building and caused significant damage, smashing windows and using paint bombs and smoke grenades. The damage caused is estimated to be a low six-figure amount.

The attackers left graffiti with suspected political content at the scene. Investigators suspect a political motive for the attack, with the graffiti possibly containing messages supporting Hamas.

The incident is currently under investigation by state protection and the anti-terrorism centre in Germany. The attack on the Israeli company in Ulm occurred just over a month after Hamas attacked Israel alongside other extremists on October 7, 2023. Since then, Israel has been at war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in around 1,200 deaths and over 250 kidnappings.

Despite the violence, Prosor reiterated his stance that anti-Semitism and terror have no place in Germany. He stressed that such attacks undermine the principles of peace and coexistence that Germany stands for.

The five suspects were arrested without resistance by police in the upper floors of the building. They are now in custody, with the investigation continuing to uncover more details about the attack and the motives behind it.
