The Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC has unveiled a series of new Ingenieur Automatics, offering a diverse range of case sizes, materials, and movements. Among these new releases, the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar, a redesigned version of the classic 1976 model, stands out with its highly-precise perpetual calendar module.

Created by IWC's legendary watchmaker Kurt Klaus in 1985, this perpetual calendar module is renowned for its ingenious integration of a full perpetual calendar complication with a Valjoux-based automatic chronograph movement. This innovative design allows for both technical innovation and practical functionality in a sports watch format.

One of the key features of the Klaus perpetual calendar is its moonphase indicator, which boasts an extraordinary level of precision. The design ensures the moonphase display will deviate by only one day every 577.5 years, making manual adjustments virtually unnecessary for centuries. This level of precision is a testament to the module’s technical excellence and sets it apart among perpetual calendar mechanisms.

The Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar comes in a 40mm stainless steel case and features a radiant blue dial with three calendar indicators. It is equipped with an integrated stainless steel bracelet and is powered by the in-house Calibre 82600 automatic movement, offering a power reserve of 60 hours, visible through the caseback window.

IWC has also introduced smaller versions of the Ingenieur, including a 35mm model available in various case materials. The gold version of the 35mm Ingenieur features a gridded dial, while the steel option comes with either black or silver-plated gridded dials.

In addition to the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar, IWC has also released new Ingenieur Automatics featuring the standard time-date model that was reissued in 2023. The 42mm black ceramic and 40mm gold versions share the same exact black dial with matching cross-hatched patterns.

IWC has also released a limited-edition Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar inspired by the upcoming F1 movie. This special edition features a radiant olive green dial and is limited to 1,000 units. It comes in a 40mm case size and has gold hour markers and handset, as well as a green date window. The limited-edition Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar is priced at $12,900.

The new Ingenieur Automatics are available in case sizes of 42mm, 40mm, and 35mm. The 40mm gold Ingenieur Automatic is powered by the IWC caliber 32111 automatic movement, while the 42mm black ceramic model is made of black zirconium oxide ceramic material and is powered by the IWC manufacture calibre 82110 automatic movement.

With these new releases, IWC continues to uphold its reputation for crafting high-quality, innovative watches that blend technical excellence with practical functionality. The Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar, with its precision perpetual calendar module, is a testament to this commitment and a noteworthy highlight in IWC's latest offerings.
