JAECOO Makes a Splash in the UK Market
JAECOO, the new brand from Chinese automotive group Chery, is set to begin deliveries of its vehicles in the UK starting in October. This marks the latest stage in Chery's expansion into the European market, which includes plans for local production in Barcelona and efforts to grow sales in multiple European countries.
The British passenger car market will welcome JAECOO alongside its sister brand Omoda, as Chery continues to make its mark in the UK. JAECOO's entry into the UK market is part of a broader European strategy, and the brand has already seen significant success.
The JAECOO 7 SHS, in particular, has been a standout performer. In August 2025, it was the UK's best-selling plug-in hybrid, according to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). With its sophisticated interior, premium-level comfort, and cutting-edge technology, the JAECOO 7 has been a popular choice among UK consumers.
The JAECOO 7 SHS offers impressive fuel efficiency, delivering 403 mpg (WLTP) and a 745-mile range. Its third-generation hybrid technology from parent company Chery Group ensures ultra-high thermal efficiency, ultra-long endurance mileage, ultra-low carbon emissions, and class-leading, ultra-high battery safety.
The JAECOO 7's cabin is equipped with a 14.8" high-resolution touchscreen, a 10.25" LCD instrument panel, and a head-up display (HUD). For those looking for a smaller option, the JAECOO 5, a compact crossover, is available to order now. The JAECOO 5 starts at £24,505 OTR in Pure specification, and £28,000 OTR for the Luxury option.
As of August 2025, JAECOO had surpassed 12,526 orders in the UK, a testament to the brand's growing popularity. The JAECOO 7 SHS played a key role in building early momentum for the brand's entry into the UK market, and it's clear that JAECOO is here to stay.
