Jazz enthusiasts, get ready! The Jazz Circle is extending an invitation to you for their upcoming festival in September.
The Jazz Circle Viersen e.V. is set to host its first-ever "September Jazz im Weberhaus" festival on September 12th and 13th, promising a weekend filled with captivating sounds from virtuoso artists.
The festivities will kick off on Friday with the young band "Jazzblood", a fresh voice from the Krefeld jazz scene, who started playing together at the age of eleven. Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.jazz-circle-viersen.de/tickets. Prices vary, with Friday tickets priced at 28 Euro (reduced 20 Euro), Saturday tickets at 42 Euro (reduced 30 Euro), and a festival pass for both days priced at 55 Euro (reduced 40 Euro). Reduced prices apply for members, students, and disabled persons, and admission is free for young people up to 18 years.
On Saturday, the festival will continue with a performance by the Bennett Agah Quartet at 6:00 PM. Agah, known for his unique style, has set poems by long-dead poets to music and will undoubtedly bring a thought-provoking performance to the stage.
The Austrian trio, known for its interaction with more than 20 different instruments, will take the stage at 7:00 PM on September 13th. The Rafael Cortés Trio, a great ambassador of jazz with a radiant tone and warm sound, will follow at 7:00 PM. Cortés, known for his virtuous, warm-hearted guitar playing, is sure to enchant the audience with his performance.
The competing bands for the "Young talents" competition are Irina's Quartet, Simon Bremen Quartett, and KNUD, with performances scheduled at 7:00 PM, 7:45 PM, and 8:30 PM respectively. The winner of the competition will receive the "Ali Haurand Prize" for the first time. Named in honor of the founder of the Jazz Circle Viersen e.V., who was also the initiator of the International Jazz Festival and had a focus on supporting young musicians, the prize is a fitting tribute to Haurand's legacy.
Around 8:30 PM on September 13th, the David Helbock Trio, feat. Filippa Gojo, will perform. Helbock has composed many new pieces and is sure to impress the audience with his innovative compositions.
The festival will conclude around 9:30 PM on the first day with Norbert Dömling's "Flying Spaces" feat. Tony Lakatos, a quintet known for its varying, improvising, and communicating tones. Lakatos, a great ambassador of jazz, plays with a radiant tone and warm sound, making for an unforgettable finale to the first day of the festival.
Catering with Polish cuisine specialties will be available for refreshments during the festival, ensuring that attendees are well-fed as they enjoy the music. The Jazz Circle is delighted to have won the Rafael Cortés Trio for the festival and looks forward to welcoming jazz lovers from around the region for a weekend of unforgettable music.
