JBL introduces updated Boombox 4 and illuminated PartyBox 720 speaker models
JBL, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality audio products, has expanded its lineup with the introduction of two new portable Bluetooth speakers: the Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720.
The JBL PartyBox 720, marketed as the largest battery-powered party speaker, is designed to deliver sound big enough to fill a basketball court. With its dual 9-inch woofers and pair of 30mm dome tweeters, this speaker promises an immersive audio experience. The PartyBox 720 is smaller than the Flip 7 and can be held in one hand, making it perfect for on-the-go parties.
The PartyBox 720 is available for pre-sale now, priced at $1099.95. It will hit the global market on the 21st of September.
On the other hand, the JBL Boombox 4 is 2lbs/900g lighter than its predecessor, weighing 5.8kg. This speaker features USB-C lossless audio for wired playback and boasts a user-replaceable battery. The Boombox 4 delivers 50% more output power when running on battery, providing a powerful audio experience.
The Boombox 4 also comes with a revamped Bass Boost feature, offering two modes: Deep Bass and Punchy Bass. It is IP68 waterproof and dustproof certified, ensuring durability and protection against the elements.
Connectivity options for both speakers include USB-C, combo jack-XLR inputs, and two XLR inputs for microphones, guitars, or DJ consoles. The Boombox 4's improved efficiency is attributed to AI Sound Boost technology.
JBL's PartyBox app provides full customization controls for both sound and lighting on the PartyBox 720. The PartyBox 720's battery life stretches to 15 hours, with an additional 2 hours from fast charging using dual replaceable batteries. The speaker also introduces a dynamic lightshow system that switches between starry and strobe effects, synced to the music.
The JBL Boombox 4's battery offers up to 28 hours of standard playback, extending to 34 hours with Playtime Boost activated. It will launch on the 28th of September, priced at $549.95. The speaker will be available in black, blue, or squad finishes, although details for the UK and Australian release dates and pricing are yet to be confirmed.
Both the Boombox 4 and PartyBox 720 feature improved mobility with wider, sturdier wheels and ergonomic handles. Additionally, the Boombox 4's battery is user-replaceable, and the PartyBox 720 is IPX4 splashproof certified.
Lastly, the Boombox 4 supports Auracast technology, enabling stereo pairing between units or connection with other compatible JBL speakers for expanded coverage. The PartyBox 720 is also equipped with this feature, making it possible to create a powerful, immersive audio experience for larger gatherings.
