New JBL Grip Portable Bluetooth Speaker Announced
JBL, a renowned name in audio technology, has announced the latest addition to their lineup of portable Bluetooth speakers - the JBL Grip. Scheduled for release on the 28th of September, the JBL Grip promises to deliver high-quality sound and unique features that set it apart from its predecessors.
The JBL Grip is equipped with JBL's AI Sound Boost technology, ensuring optimized output for an immersive audio experience. This technology is complemented by an ambient lighting system on the rear of the speaker, featuring customizable themes and adjustable brightness levels.
In terms of connectivity, the JBL Grip boasts Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast technology, enabling seamless pairing with multiple devices. It also supports Playtime Boost, offering an additional 2 hours of battery life, making it ideal for extended use.
The JBL Grip is compact and upright, designed for easy one-handed use. It measures similar to a can of Red Bull or a Monster energy drink can, and weighs 385g, making it smaller and lighter than the JBL Flip 7 but larger than the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2.
The speaker's rugged design includes a woven fabric covering, a small carry rope, and chunky playback and volume buttons. It is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, similar to the JBL Flip 7, ensuring durability and protection against the elements.
The JBL Grip will be available in six vibrant colours and is currently available for pre-sale at $99.95. As for its international release, pricing and release dates for the UK and Australia are yet to be confirmed.
In Germany, the JBL Grip is set to launch on the 8th of September, 2025, with a recommended retail price of 99.99 euros. However, there is no specific information about future price changes or trends after release.
The JBL Grip's accompanying app allows for additional lighting tweaks and the saving of preferred configurations, enhancing the user experience. With a battery life of 12 hours, the JBL Grip is a versatile and reliable choice for music enthusiasts on the go.
