Jeffrey Epstein's estate planning to deliver a 'birthday book' containing subpoenaed documents to Congress, according to a House Democrat.

The House Oversight Committee, led by James Comer (R-Ky.), has issued a subpoena to the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, seeking a series of documents, including a leather-bound book that reportedly contains a 2003 birthday message from former President Donald Trump.

The subpoena also calls for any records that could be reasonably construed to be a potential list of clients. This move comes as the Oversight Committee intensifies its investigation into the Epstein case, following the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)'s decision not to release additional files.

The decision to withhold further files has sparked an uproar within Trump's administration, with the former President claiming that the government has hidden aspects of its investigation into Epstein and pledging further transparency. Trump, in a social media post, labelled the allegations as "FAKE NEWS."

The Wall Street Journal published a story about a drawing of a naked woman that Trump allegedly sent as a 50th birthday message to Epstein. However, NBC News has not independently verified or seen the birthday message.

The Oversight Committee has also subpoenaed the Justice Department for files. The committee has withdrawn its subpoena for former FBI Director Robert Mueller due to health issues that preclude him from testifying.

In a positive development, many victims of Epstein will meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill next week to highlight their stories and centre the victims. The Oversight Committee has also announced that former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta will voluntarily sit for a transcribed interview next month.

A spokesman for Comer stated that the committee expects the Epstein estate to comply with the subpoena and deliver the requested documents. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) stated that the committee will receive the book and other documents on September 8.

The Oversight Committee's investigation into the Epstein case is ongoing, and developments are expected in the coming weeks. As the committee delves deeper into the case, more revelations about the Epstein saga may come to light.
