Demba Ba Joins Besiktas on €6million Deal

Demba Ba, the Senegalese striker who scored 14 goals in 51 appearances for Chelsea, has completed a €6million transfer to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas. The 34-year-old forward expressed a desire to impress at his new club and hopes to have a bigger impact with Besiktas as they bid to better last term's third-place finish.

Ba's move to Besiktas comes after struggling to establish himself as a regular at Chelsea following his transfer from Newcastle United in January 2013. Despite his pivotal contribution at Chelsea, including scoring the goal that put Chelsea through to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season against Paris Saint-Germain, he was unable to win Jose Mourinho over.

Ba's goal against Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2-0 quarter-final second-leg win for Chelsea, levelling the tie at 3-3 on aggregate to progress on away goals. This was a highlight of his spell at Chelsea, where he made 23 starts in all competitions.

The Croatian football coach Slaven Bilic, who was the manager of Beşiktaş from June 26, 2013, to May 31, 2015, during which time he coached players including Demba Ba, is aware of what his new signing expects from him. Ba is open to all sorts of competition at Besiktas and has signed a four-year deal with the club.

Ba received positive feedback about Besiktas and Istanbul from his Senegalese friends in Turkey. He also expressed a desire to not disappoint Besiktas fans due to their preference for hard-working and spirited players. Ba hopes to repay their faith and help the team achieve success in the upcoming season.
