In a series of announcements, several companies have announced job cuts and facility closures across California, Georgia, and Michigan. Here's a breakdown of the affected companies and the number of jobs at risk.

Silgan Containers, a container manufacturing company, will temporarily lay off 150 workers at two facilities in Modesto, California. The layoffs are set to take effect on October 26.

Green Rabbit, a division of Performance Food Group, will shut down two facilities in Visalia, California, eliminating 107 jobs by December 31.

Hormel Foods, a food production company, will lay off 135 employees at its Tucker, Georgia, plant. Production at the facility will shift to other locations, with the layoffs scheduled to be finalized by November 8.

DP World, a logistics company, will close a facility in Warren, Michigan, after losing a contract. The closure will result in the layoff of 70 workers. Another DP World facility in Modesto, California, will permanently close after October 5.

API Logistics Warehouse Management Services will close a distribution center in Lithia Springs, Georgia, and cut 118 jobs. The layoffs will begin on October 31.

Web to Door, an Amazon delivery service provider based in San Leandro, California, is laying off 192 workers and ceasing operations at three locations: 67 in Richmond, 63 in Milpitas, and 62 in Oakland. The layoffs will be finalized by October 27.

J.B. Hunt, a logistics company, will close a Home Depot distribution center in Lithonia, Georgia, cutting 70 jobs due to "changing business conditions."

International Paper, a paper and packaging company, is set to cut 1,093 jobs in Georgia. The cuts will affect 792 employees in Savannah, 220 at Interstate Paper in Riceboro, and 81 at subsidiaries RB Lumber Co. and Newport Timber. International Paper's Savannah containerboard mill and packaging plant, as well as its Riceboro containerboard mill and timber operations will be shuttered.

Tom Hamic, executive vice president of North America packaging solutions at International Paper, stated that these decisions are essential for the company's long-term success.

Despite extensive search efforts, there are no relevant results providing information about companies in California, Georgia, and Michigan that have cut more than 1,000 jobs last week and the specific locations of these job cuts.

In addition, GXO Logistics will cease operations for a client at a facility in Redlands, California, and lay off 32 employees. The closure takes effect on October 26.

These announcements mark a significant blow to the employment landscape in these regions, with hundreds of workers facing uncertain futures. It is hoped that these companies will find ways to mitigate the impact on their employees and the local economies.
