John Deere's GPS technology swiped for 50,000 euros: Farmer reveals theft incident

In the tranquil countryside of rural Britain, Farmer Lars and his father run an organic farm, where daily business is a constant. From tending to the horses in the stable to managing the biogas plant, their days are filled with the rhythm of farm life.

However, last year, their peaceful existence was disrupted by a serious break-in. Burglars, who remain unidentified, made their way onto the farm, coming within 20 meters of the farmers' bedroom during the incident. Remarkably, the farmers did not notice the intruders.

The burglars made off with valuable equipment, including John Deere GPS technology worth 50,000 euros. All Starfire receivers were taken, amounting to a total theft of 100,000 euros. Despite the significant loss, the insurance covered the costs of both damage and theft from the second break-in.

Farmer Lars emphasises the importance of continuing despite the incidents. "You have to keep going," he states. The combine harvester, tractors, and wagons all need to be checked and prepared for the upcoming harvest, which is just around the corner.

The tractors are parked up front, not easily accessible in the back yard. Fortunately, the burglars did not steal from the tractors parked up front, leaving the farmers' essential machinery intact.

As the farm gears up for another season, Farmer Lars and his father remain resilient in the face of adversity. Their commitment to organic farming and the daily business of running a farm remains unwavering, a testament to their determination and perseverance.
