In a groundbreaking collaboration, Polestar has launched Abbey Road Studios Mode, an innovative in-car sound experience co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins. The new mode aims to elevate the listening experience by replicating the iconic sounds of Abbey Road Studios, one of the most famous rooms in music history.
Grammy-nominated composer Jon Hopkins was invited to create new music for this unique project. Hopkins, who has previously collaborated with artists like Kelly Lee Owens before the release of Abbey Road Studios Modes in Polestar 3, felt fortunate to work on this project in the hallowed halls of Abbey Road Studios.
The collaboration resulted in two new tracks for the Intimate and Expansive presets. The Intimate preset track is a subtle, contemplative piece that evokes the quiet and private feeling of being in one of Abbey Road's control rooms. On the other hand, the Expansive preset track, inspired by Studio Two, a creative space at the centre of Britain's music scene since 1931, captures the grandeur and expansiveness of the legendary studio.
Meanwhile, jazz star corto.alto spent a day making music in Studio Two, where he reimagined two of his most impactful tracks to showcase the unique sonic characteristics of Abbey Road Studios Mode.
Polestar has also collaborated with professional cyclist Demi Vollering and American basketball player Kevin Love for portraits. The collaborations focus on speed, performance, design, well-being, and creativity, reflecting the ethos of both Polestar and the collaborating artists.
In addition to the collaborative tracks, Abbey Road Studios Mode offers four unique presets (Intimate, Expansive, Open, Energised) and a producer mode that allows users to customise their audio experience with tailored sound settings. The new in-car sound mode is available exclusively with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in the Polestar 3.
With Abbey Road Studios Mode, Polestar continues to push the boundaries of what an electric vehicle can offer, combining cutting-edge technology with a rich, immersive audio experience.
