JPMorgan Chase and Coinbase team up strategically to simplify cryptocurrency purchasing like never before

In a groundbreaking move, JPMorgan Chase and Coinbase have formed a strategic partnership that will enable over 80 million Chase customers to access crypto investments and credit card integrations on Coinbase. The partnership, set to go live in Fall 2025, marks the first time a major credit card rewards program will be used to fund a crypto wallet.

JPMorgan Chase, a leading global financial institution, operates under the J.P. Morgan and Chase brands. The institution is renowned for its investment banking, financial services for consumers and small businesses, commercial banking, financial transaction processing, and asset management. With assets of $3.7 trillion, JPMorgan Chase serves millions of customers in the U.S. and many global prominent clients.

Max Branzburg, Head of Consumer & Business Products at Coinbase, expressed excitement about partnering with JPMorgan Chase. "We are thrilled to onboard the next generation of consumers into crypto," Branzburg said. Coinbase, a trusted platform for engaging with crypto assets, provides a solution for trading, staking, safekeeping, spending, and fast, free global transfers.

The partnership introduces features to enhance access and optionality for mutual customers. Chase customers will be able to link their bank accounts to Coinbase wallets directly, and fund their Coinbase accounts using Chase credit cards starting Fall 2025. This direct bank-to-wallet feature is expected to go live in 2026, along with the Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Coinbase Accounts.

Coinbase, along with the crypto community, advocates for responsible rules to make the benefits of crypto available around the world.
