In a significant move, JPMorgan Chase, one of the major retail banks in the US with over 85 million customers, has announced plans to enter the German market. By the end of 2025, the bank will officially open its location in Berlin, Germany, marking its expansion into Europe.

The digital banking service, Chase, is set to be innovative in the German market, designed to be completely digital, simple, and personal. The service is tailored to the German market, taking into account the country's strong savings culture and growing customer demand.

The initial offering of Chase in Germany will be a savings account, with plans to gradually expand its offerings beyond this. The digital banking service is launched with the aim to help consumers maximize the potential of their money.

Mark O'Donovan, the CEO of International Consumer Banking at JPMorgan Chase, has expressed the bank's big ambitions and great respect for German customer expectations. Daniel Llano Manibardo, the Head of Germany International Consumer Banking for Chase, is leading the charge in this expansion.

JPMorgan Chase serves clients in various areas such as Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Private Banking, Asset and Wealth Management in Germany. The bank currently employs over 900 people in Frankfurt and across Germany, and has over 2.5 million customers in the UK.

The head of the International Consumer Credit Institute of JPMorgan Chase in Germany, who is planning the launch of Chase in Germany in the second quarter of 2026, has not been publicly disclosed. However, the bank has confirmed that it will launch the digital banking service in Q2 2026.
