Junior MMA competitor Thủy secures a bronze medal at the Asian Championship
The Asian Mixed Martial Arts Youth Championship, a significant event for young athletes in mixed martial arts across Asia, is currently underway in Manama, Bahrain. This year's competition has seen intense battles and notable performances, with one standout achievement coming from Trieu Thu Thuy, a Southeast Asian jujitsu champion.
Trieu Thu Thuy, the only female fighter among the four athletes representing her team, made history at the championship by earning the first medal for the Vietnamese team. In a thrilling match, she defeated Abbasnezhad Aylin of Iran to secure a bronze medal in the 45kg modern MMA category.
Despite her male teammates being eliminated in the quarter-finals, Trieu Thu Thuy and her fellow female teammate managed to complete their assigned targets, showcasing their resilience and determination.
