The University of Kansas renewed its rivalry with the Missouri Tigers' former conference mate, the Wagner Seahawks, in a football game held at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The Jayhawks emerged victorious, defeating Wagner 46-7.

Quarterback Jalon Daniels led the charge for Kansas, ending the game with an impressive 280 passing yards. He completed 18 out of 25 passes, including four touchdowns. Two of these touchdowns were thrown to Emmanuel Henderson Jr., with one being a 62-yard pass for the second-half touchdown and another a 9-yard pass midway through the second quarter. The first touchdown of the game was a 4-yard pass from Daniels to DeShawn Hanika.

The Jayhawks' offensive performance was not without mistakes, as they were only successful on 4 out of 10 third-down attempts. However, a 20-yard touchdown run by Daniel Hishaw and a 75-yard drive in two plays on their first possession of the second half helped to secure the victory.

Wagner's quarterback, Jack Stevens, completed 13 passes out of 20 for 90 yards and a touchdown, but the Seahawks struggled offensively, managing only one touchdown, a 45-yard screen pass from Stevens to Jeremiah Colclough.

The game was not in doubt by midway through the second quarter, with the score at 29-0 in favour of Kansas. Wagner did manage to score a touchdown on a fourth-down conversion, but it was not enough to close the gap.

The Jayhawks' defence also had a strong performance, with Jalon Daniels having one interception during the game. However, Wagner's Jayden Brown intercepted a pass by Jalon Daniels in the end zone on a first-and-goal play from the 9-yard line, preventing a potential touchdown.

This will be the first time since 2011 that the two former conference rivals will square off, as Missouri left the Big 12 for the SEC in that year. The Jayhawks will renew their rivalry with Missouri next Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
