Tajikistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Ties Through Collaborative Agreement

Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu made an official visit to Dushanbe, Tajikistan this week, marking a significant step in the strengthening of relations between the two Central Asian nations.

During the visit, both Tajikistan and Kazakhstan underscored their commitment to long-term collaboration. The discussion between the parties covered politics, trade, energy, transport, and cultural ties.

On Friday, the talks culminated in the signing of the Treaty on Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century. Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, put his signature on the treaty.

The treaty, officially known as the "Treaty on Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century," is aimed at fostering peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.

In a show of mutual support, Emomali Rahmon expressed his backing for regional initiatives led by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Kazakhstan, in turn, highly appreciates Tajikistan's efforts to strengthen stability and security in Central Asia, according to Nurtleu.

The bilateral trade volume between the two countries is set to increase, with a goal of reaching $2 billion. Kazakhstan plans to boost its exports of agricultural, food, and engineering products to Tajikistan by $200 million.

Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, and President Emomali Rahmon were among the individuals Nurtleu met with during his visit. The growing alliance between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan was highlighted as vital for peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.

This visit and the subsequent agreement mark a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts by Tajikistan and Kazakhstan to work together for the betterment of Central Asia.
