In a significant development, North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, has activated three long-term plans for expanding and modernising the country's missile production capabilities. This announcement was made during his visit to an ammunition factory, as reported by the official news agency KCNA.

The plans focus on increasing the manufacturing capacity, improving the quality and precision of missiles, and enhancing self-sufficiency in indigenous weapons development. Kim Jong Un inspected a new missile production line, stating that North Korea's missile production capabilities have been expanded rapidly. He also signaled that the country is "on course" to meet the five-year plan for missile production.

This move comes amidst growing international tensions, with reports suggesting that North Korea has supplied Russia with missiles and other military equipment for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. However, no new information has been provided to confirm these claims.

It is also worth noting that North Korea, an internationally isolated country, is said to have supported Russia with thousands of soldiers. The exact nature and extent of this support remain unclear.

China, currently North Korea's most important economic and political ally, will host a massive military parade in Beijing on Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II. Kim Jong Un is scheduled to attend this parade, joining other world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Lim Eul Chul, from the Institute for Far Eastern Studies at Kyungnam University, North Korea's progress in missile production aims to deter South Korea and the USA. The escalating missile capabilities of North Korea could potentially pose a significant threat to regional stability and international security.

As the situation continues to evolve, it is crucial for the international community to closely monitor North Korea's actions and work towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.
