KO Group Expands into the Realm of Ballads through KO Sports Venture
KO Sports, a new platform dedicated to sports-themed podcasts, is set to debut on September 15. Founded by Louis Morissette, the president of Groupe KO, the service will be available for free on most online distribution platforms.
At the heart of KO Sports' programming will be the hockey-focused show 60 with the 60, featuring former NHL stars José Théodore and Louis Morissette. The popular podcast Entre la poire et le fromage is also returning to KO Sports, with Maxime Talbot joining as co-host.
In addition to these shows, KO Sports will offer discussions on tennis, golf, and football, with a focus on peripheral questions related to sports practice. A new iteration of Mathias and the Snake, previously presented by the BPM Sports channel, will also join KO Sports under a new name.
The partnership between KO Sports and Loto-Quebec will focus on "responsible gaming." Loto-Quebec plays the role of presenting partner in the KO Sports ecosystem. This partnership aims to promote responsible gaming practices within the platform.
Integrations between KO Sports and Mise-o-jeu, a sports betting platform, are also planned. However, no specific details about these integrations have been disclosed yet.
Geneviève Tardif and sports agent Sasha Ghavami will team up to shed light on the business behind sports, while Isabelle Éthier will offer in-depth interviews with her show Le genou à terre.
Exclusive content will be available for $9.99 per month on ko-sports.tv. Recently, Jonathan Cimon has joined KO Studios as General Director, Development and Associate.
While no information is currently available about a company taking on the role of presentation partner at the podcast production company KO Sports, the Commercial Development Society has made five official requests to the mayoral candidates.
