Krasnodar's Mayor refutes claims about an rise in transportation costs
In the past few days, rumours have been circulating on messengers and social networks about an increase in public transport fares in the regional capital, Krasnodar. However, these claims have been debunked as false by Yevgeny Naumov, the mayor of Krasnodar.
The videos accompanying these messages, according to Naumov, are also fake. He made this denial in a post on Telegram, urging Krasnodar residents to verify information from official sources. The video, it appears, was created using a neural network.
The denial of the increase in public transport fares comes after a drone attack, but Naumov has clarified that the attack did not cause an increase in public transport fares. He also warned people not to be fooled by the fake messages, emphasising the importance of fact-checking.
Interestingly, the administration of Sochi has also denied information about the cancellation of school lines on September 1. This suggests that misinformation is not limited to Krasnodar.
Despite the circulating rumours, the fare for public transport in Krasnodar remains the same. As of now, there is no specific information available about an announcement regarding a fare increase for public transportation in Krasnodar.
Naumov's denial of the increase in public transport fares and his warning against fake news serve as a reminder to stay vigilant and verify information before sharing it. It's a call to action for all citizens to contribute to a more informed and reliable digital space.
