KSA Cracks Down on Influencers Promoting Illegal Gambling

The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has taken stern action against three social media influencers for promoting unlicensed gambling providers. This move is part of a wider crackdown on advertising targeting minors and vulnerable groups.

The KSA's enforcement orders, issued in October 2025, require the influencers to remove existing content within 48 hours and prevent further promotion of illegal gambling. Failure to comply could result in financial penalties of up to €25,000 per violation, capped at €75,000 per case. This follows a similar order given to LeftlanePapi in July. The UK's Advertising Standards Authority has also published guidelines to prevent online personalities from appealing strongly to under-18s. Other countries, such as Brazil, Italy, and Spain, have taken measures to restrict gambling advertisements via digital media.

The KSA's action sends a clear message to social media personalities that promoting illegal gambling will not be tolerated. The strict penalties aim to protect young and vulnerable audiences from being targeted by unlicensed providers.
