Kuwaiti woman penalized 4,000 dinars due to child negligence by the court.

In a recent ruling by the Misdemeanor Court, a Kuwaiti woman has been fined 4,000 dinars ($13,090) for child neglect. The court's decision was based on testimonies from the children's grandmother, child protection authorities, and the children themselves.

The children's grandmother revealed that the mother had been absent from her children for several months, with the absence being confirmed by the children's father. The son of the accused stated in court that his mother abandoned him and his siblings while she traveled abroad for plastic surgery.

Attorney Abdul Mohsen Al Qattan represented the children's grandmother as a civil plaintiff and demanded the maximum penalty and compensation. The mother's lawyer sought acquittal for the woman, but the court's ruling was firm.

Child protection authorities supported the claims of child neglect made against the woman. The ruling was issued under Kuwait's Child Law No. 21/2015, which guarantees children the right to care and penalizes parental neglect.

News reports suggest that the son expressed a wish to live only with his father. The mother's name has not been publicly disclosed, but the ruling serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of child neglect in Kuwait.

This case highlights the importance of parental responsibility and the protection of children's rights in Kuwait. It underscores the commitment of the Kuwaiti legal system to uphold the welfare of children and to ensure that they are cared for by their parents or guardians.
