New Volvo ES90 Arrives in Australia: Luxury, Performance, and Technology

The Swedish automaker Volvo is set to make a splash in the Australian market with the upcoming release of its flagship model, the Volvo ES90. This large electric vehicle (EV) is positioning itself as an industry leader in software-defined cars, leveraging core computing to deliver a seamless driving experience.

The ES90 is not a conventional sedan but boasts a luxurious, high-riding design, combining the elegance of an SUV with the practicality of a hatchback. Measuring 5000mm in length, 2120mm in width, 1546mm in height, and featuring a 3102mm wheelbase, the ES90 exudes a sense of grandeur.

The Volvo ES90 will initially be offered in three variants locally: the base model, the Plus Single Motor, and the top-tier Ultra variant. The base model is priced at $88,880 plus on-road costs, while the Plus Single Motor variant will retail for $107,990. The Ultra variant, with its array of premium features, will be priced higher.

The ES90's Ultra variant comes equipped with a host of luxurious amenities. It features active air suspension, soft-closing doors, and ventilated and massaging front seats upholstered in Nappa leather. The cabin is further enhanced by a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system and Pixel adaptive high beam, ensuring an immersive and safe driving experience.

Under the hood, the ES90 houses a 92kWh battery and a single motor capable of 245kW/480Nm. The vehicle claims a 0-100km/h time of 6.6 seconds, offering a blend of power and efficiency. The ES90 also boasts a claimed range of up to 554km (WLTP) and can fast charge up to 305kW DC, making long-distance travel a breeze.

The ES90 is not just a statement of luxury and performance; it's also a testament to Volvo's commitment to sustainability. As Stephen Connor, the managing director of Volvo Car Australia, stated during the ES90's presentation, "The ES90 represents our vision for a sustainable future, combining luxury, performance, and technology in a way that's never been done before."

In a competitive market, the ES90 will rival the BMW i5. With its unique blend of style, performance, and technology, the ES90 is poised to make a significant impact in the Australian automotive landscape. The Volvo ES90's release date is approaching, and it will soon be available in local Volvo showrooms.
