Scientific Games Unveils Premium Scratch Game Innovation, Obsidian, at NASPL 2025 Conference
Scientific Games, the world's largest creator of lottery instant games, is set to debut its latest innovation at the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) 2025 Conference. The new game, named Obsidian, is a holographic product that promises to bring a touch of luxury and uniqueness to the lottery market.
Obsidian, inspired by the naturally occurring volcanic rock, aims to provide a sleek and glasslike appearance. The game offers 18 unique design concepts, featuring an intriguing combination of all-black tones and holographic elements. According to Danielle Hodges, Senior Director of Global Product Innovation and Development at Scientific Games, the team was motivated to create fresh, new games centered on value proposition design for lottery partners.
During the conference, scheduled to take place between September 8 and September 11 in Ontario, Canada, Scientific Games will showcase Obsidian, along with a number of other new products. The brand-new Obsidian games will be produced at Scientific Games' facilities in the UK, Canada, and their metro Atlanta, Georgia, global headquarters.
The response from several lotteries during sneak previews of Obsidian has been pure excitement, as Hodges explained. This new innovation follows an important partnership announced by Scientific Games, with the Polish National Lottery, where they entered into a collaboration to provide technology and gaming solutions, including deploying their advanced lottery and gaming platforms to enhance the lottery's digital and retail operations in Poland.
In addition to the Obsidian launch, Scientific Games will also elevate the Georgia Lottery's retail operations with the delivery of their SCiQ solution. This move is expected to revolutionise the Georgia Lottery's retail environment, providing a more engaging and efficient experience for players.
At a time when the market basket average is increasing, holographic games like Obsidian allow lotteries to differentiate their games by adding a touch of luxury and uniqueness.
