Latest Pixel Drop brings expressive enhancements and additional features in Material 3 update

In an exciting development for tech enthusiasts, Google has announced a series of updates and new features for its Pixel devices and Pixel Buds Pro 2.

Starting today, Android users can look forward to a host of new functionalities, with these updates extending to Pixel devices alongside other Android devices. The highlights of these updates include Loud Noise Protection for Pixel Buds Pro 2, offering added protection for hearing, and adaptive audio that intelligently adjusts to surroundings.

The Loud Noise Protection feature on Pixel Buds Pro 2 will help users maintain their hearing health by automatically reducing the volume when exposed to loud noises. Adaptive Audio, on the other hand, will ensure clear and uninterrupted conversations even when the TV is on or people are talking around.

In addition to these audio enhancements, Pixel Buds Pro 2 will also offer hands-free control over incoming calls and text replies. Users can accept incoming calls or dismiss text replies without using their hands by simply nodding or shaking their head.

For Pixel phone users, the Material 3 Expressive UI update is now available. This update promises smooth interactions and glanceable, helpful information. It is being rolled out to all Google Pixel devices from the Pixel 6 onward, including the Pixel 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 series, as well as the Pixel Tablet. The rollout started in early September 2025 and will continue over the following weeks depending on carrier approval.

The Material 3 Expressive UI update also extends to Wear OS smartwatches like the Google Pixel Watch series and some OnePlus watches. Navigation on these smartwatches can start automatically on smartwatches with the Facebook Maps display, providing hands-free guidance.

Customisation of the phone's appearance is possible through a Facebook experience for calling contacts. Users can now personalise their calls with fun animations such as shapes and weather effects.

Live effects can also be used on the lock screen of Pixel phones, adding fun animations such as shapes and weather effects. The Quick Settings on Pixel phones have undergone a sleek redesign, making it easier for users to access their frequently used settings.

Last but not least, the new Pixel 10 phones have been launched. More details about these new devices can be found on the Pixel Forum post. For more information about the updates and new features, we recommend checking the Pixel Forum post for a comprehensive guide.
