New Mercedes C-Class Electric Model to Debut with Innovative MBUX Hyperscreen
Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce a new electric variant of their popular C-Class, and it's shaping up to be a game-changer.
The star of the show is the MBUX Hyperscreen, a groundbreaking interface that combines a 10.3-inch cockpit display, a 14-inch central display, and a 14-inch passenger display into a single unit, offering a 39.1-inch diagonal viewing experience. This high-tech setup promises to bring smartphone-like operation to the driving experience, with the "Zero Layer" logic ensuring easy handling.
The interior of the electric C-Class (2026) is expected to be dominated by large screen areas, much like the GLC EQ. This focus on digital technology creates a modern and sleek cabin that is sure to impress.
On the exterior, the new model boasts an "iconic radiator grille" similar to the GLC EQ's. However, this new grille features four lamellae, a departure from the three in previous Mercedes models, lending the electric C-Class a unique and modern look.
The electric C-Class EQ's silhouette shows a comparatively classic sedan shape, a departure from the curved roof line of previous EQ models. This familiar design, combined with the more familiar model designation compared to the EQC, suggests that Mercedes is aiming to attract a wider audience with this new offering.
While Mercedes is considering a station wagon version of the C-Class EQ, this is not yet confirmed. What is confirmed, however, is the anticipated price range of the 2026 Mercedes C-Class electric model. Based on a conversion from the anticipated US dollar price of about $55,000 at launch, the price is expected to start at around €52,000 to €55,000.
