Law enforcement agencies focused on anti-terror activities detain four individuals in various spots throughout England.
Four Men Arrested in Connection with Terrorism Investigation
In a pre-planned and intelligence-led operation, four men have been arrested in Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and the West Midlands on suspicion of plotting acts of terrorism. The arrested individuals are all British nationals, with three of them being in their 30s and one being a 49-year-old.
The arrests took place at addresses in Leeds, Huddersfield, Derby, and West Bromwich. Following the arrests, all the men were taken to a local police station for questioning.
Searches are ongoing at multiple properties in relation to the investigation. Authorities have confirmed that there is no believed imminent threat to the public in the UK linked to this investigation.
The police emphasised that the arrests were made under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The individuals taken into custody have been remanded in police custody as the investigation continues.
The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. As always, the police reiterated that the safety and security of the UK's citizens remain their top priority.
