On the night of September 6, 2025, a driver was arrested in Magdeburg for driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on the B81 towards Magdeburg at around 12:45 AM. The driver, who has not been publicly identified, initially denied consuming alcohol but later admitted to having a glass of champagne at a birthday party. A breathalyzer test confirmed a blood alcohol level of 1.45%.

Earlier in the day, on September 6, a speed control was conducted on the Magdeburger Straße from 8:45 AM to 10:45 AM. Out of 75 vehicles that passed, six were speeding. The fastest was a VW Transporter driver with a speed of 72 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

On the same day, at 8:00 AM in Barleben, a vandalism incident occurred, involving 36 pieces of graffiti on various structures. The perpetrators of the graffiti in Angerstraße were caught in the act, but their involvement in the Burgenser Straße graffiti is still under investigation.

On September 5, a driver was observed operating a van unsafely on the L50 between Schleibnitz and Wanzleben. The driver, a 46-year-old woman, was stopped and found to have a strong smell of alcohol. A breathalyzer test confirmed her blood alcohol level at 2.3%. Her driver's license was seized, and a criminal investigation was initiated.

The graffiti spree continued, with the vandals targeting a bus stop, power boxes, fences, walls, house walls, and the facade of a shopping center. The nature of the graffiti and the identity of the perpetrators remain under investigation.

In a separate incident on Burgenser Straße and also involving the Angerstraße, the officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on a driver who was found in the parking lot of a community garden in Bucher Weg after continuing from the roundabout. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was arrested, a blood sample was taken, and a criminal investigation was initiated.

As the investigations continue, authorities urge road users to remain vigilant and responsible, and to never drink and drive. They also remind the public to report any suspicious activities or incidents to the police.
