Law enforcement is seeking individuals who may have observed break-ins in Recklinghausen for their testimonies.
In a series of unfortunate events, several break-ins have been reported across Recklinghausen and its surrounding areas.
Last Saturday evening, a multi-family house on Rosenstraße in Recklinghausen was broken into. The perpetrators targeted an apartment on the first floor, and at least jewelry was stolen during the break-in. No connection has been established between this incident and the earlier break-ins at the kindergartens and other locations in Recklinghausen.
Another break-in occurred at a kindergarten on Straße In der Wanne in Recklinghausen between Friday evening and Monday morning. The perpetrators forced open a bathroom window and an office door, and a safe was stolen.
Over the weekend, a kindergarten on Karolinenstraße in Recklinghausen was also broken into. A metal door was forced open, and staff lockers were searched, but no information on stolen goods is available yet.
Investigations are ongoing to determine possible connections between these break-ins at the kindergartens in Recklinghausen.
Meanwhile, in Dorsten, a church on Pestalozzistraße was broken into between Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. A safe was stolen from a meeting room, and several rooms were searched. The perpetrators left the community house through a side door. No information is available on whether anything else was stolen from the church.
In Herten, a school on Ebbelicher Weg was broken into between Saturday evening and Monday morning. The perpetrators gained access to the building in an unexplained manner and forced open several doors on the ground floor, stealing cash. The method used by the perpetrators to gain access to the school is currently unexplained.
The responsible authority for the investigations into the break-ins at the daycare centers in Castrop-Rauxel and Straße In der Wanne, the church in Dorsten, the school building in Herten, and the multi-family house in Recklinghausen is the local police department in the respective areas, coordinated by the police investigation units handling property crimes.
